I’m a bad artist who makes bad art. Have a browse below if you are into that sort of thing.
“Well?” - Mixed media sculpture expressing my experience with and attitude towards psychiatric medication. The inside of the box is decorated with used medication packets, some of which have been filled with tissue paper. In the foreground is a foil silhouette of a figure and a metal script reading well? The external sides of the box are covered in medication labels and excerpts from their accompanying papers.
"A Boring Dystopia: Gas Town" - a 3D collage of a truck made from a shoebox covered in images of humvees and other cars. Behind the truck are images of oil exploitation, George Bush, airplanes and smog. WELCOME TO THE CORRUPTION and NEW TRANSPORT POLICY can be read in the lower third of the collage.
"Now I Will Begin" a chaotic paper ephemera collage made from stamps, cigarette cards, magazines and other miscellany
“Practice Everyday Life” - on a background of black and white collage is a picture of Titian’s Danae painting of a nude white woman reclining in bed. In black ink Practice is written above the painting and Everyday life is written below it.
“The World’s Hottest GOD” - a self portrait through the medium of collage. Elements include a galaxy with a speech bubble that reads time? and two sets of words combined at the top to say The World’s Hottest GOD. Below that to the right is a cut out of a red ink print of my breast. Below that two words form the phrase SUPERPOWERED Coming. A large beige stone statue of a person sitting with their arms crossed over their knees occupies the foreground.
“New Dawn” - a collage I made with a red ink imprint of my breast forms the flower of a rose-shaped sun rising above a grassy horizon
“SEND NO MONEY!” - on a white piece of card are flower petals, stems, thorns and leafs made from old popular mechanics magazine classified ads. In the middle is - you guessed it - a red ink print of my breast! I swear it looks like a rose. The collage sits on a purple cutting board.
“EVERYTHING!” - On a purple cutting board is a collage. The white collage paper has two red ink prints of my breasts turned into eyes by the use of two cut out human eyebrows (cut out from a magazine not a human). Beneath the eyes there is a cut out of a mouth with a studded tongue sticking out. The composition makes the images into a face. To the bottom right of the face there is a red cut out of EVERYTHING!
“B” - an abstract multi-coloured watered ink self-portrait that looks nothing like me because I’m not a skilled artist. The figure is wearing a blue and red shirt, a barbed wire choker and an earring made of clay. In the figure’s left eye is a mountain landscape scene but not the same mountain landscape scene as the one that makes up the background.
“Good morning said the elephant to the flea” - a multicoloured pastel ink drawing of an elephant, a flea, several flowers, and a river with two fish.
"Soft Shoe" a yellow, pink, silver and red ink painting with a magazine cut out of shoes titled Soft Shoe in the middle overlayed with squiggly red lines.. In red ink soft Soft is written to the left of the collage piece and Shoe to the right.
“Purple Haze” - a gouache and ink landscape painting in purple-scale. In the foreground there is field of flowers and a lake, in the midground mountains and in the background sky with clouds. A river of neon orange ink lava flows down from the highest mountain to the lake.
“The Commercialisation of Cool” - a collage I made centred around the album artwork for The Thrills Let’s Bottle Bohemia, a guitar playing skeleton and a femme singer in front of a yellow background
“Women’s Issues” - a collage I made centered around the words “Cluster Fuck” and a cut out from a vintage pornography magazine of a woman with an added text bubble that says “What are you waiting for, permission?”
“No Peace” - a neon pink and yellow paper, tape and ink collage inspired by the central image, Bruce Nauman’s 1981-1982 neon tube installation that reads Violins, Violence, Silence.
“The Circles of Your Mind” - in the middle of four concentric circles of green, blue, yellow and red watercolor and ink is a fifth circle made up of one ring of each color. The other circles are inscribed with a selection of emotions from the feeling wheel like joy, hurt, lonely and guilty.
“red” - red is my swader in the light. red is hot in my dog. red is my tamadeto. red is the sun at sunset. red is the blod in my body. red is the apple I bite into.
